Best spatula mixing beater for the KitchenAid mixers

The design of the SideSwipe beater is genius! Not only does it clean the sides of the bowl with each rotation of the beater, it has opposing silicone fins that allow chunks of chocolate, raisins, nuts, etc. to pass through and not get stuck. It truly is the best design of all the beaters out there that purportedly do the same. Until I got the SideSwipe beater, I really didn’t like the mixer; having to stop it all the time and scrape down the sides. It changed the mixer from a mediocre to a great machine. I hope someone takes up the mantle of continuing to produce these beaters. There’s nothing better!

Where have you been hiding these?!

I purchase 2 of these after seeing a YouTube baker, Ben Starr, make an offhanded remark about the beaters on his KitchenAid. He said he’d gifted them to other bakers over the last ?10-11 years and everyone loved them. I wondered why I’ve never seen any advertisement for these? They are sturdy and conform to the bowl and best of all, do a great job of mixing while scraping. I’d bought replacement beaters from KitchenAid, both plain and with the rubber scraper over the years and found that no matter the type of beater, the enamel always chipped off despite the bowl/beater being in proper alignment. It sure is more fun to eat the frosting off the beaters now!

SideSwipe for Tilt-Head KitchenAid

I was pleasantly surprised!! This attachment worked wonderfully, and I didn't have to stop and scrape down the sides at all!!

It really works!

I was skeptical that this blade would really scrape the sides of the bowl. It worked the best when creaming the butter and sugar. It didn't scrape as well when the bowl was full of other ingredients. Overall I would recommend and buy again.
